I am currently a certified ScrumMaster at Safeway / Albertsons in their Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence department. I started my journey in computer operations in a large IBM MVS mainframe environment for a large regional bank in 1980 (yes Waterfall-SDM 70). While there I was master scheduler, systems analyst and QA. In 1998 I moved to San Diego, California and worked for the County of San Diego Department of Public Works as a database application developer. Over the next 12 years I developed several database driven applications for organizations in San Diego. I moved back to my native Phoenix, Arizona in 2010 and was formally educated in Business Intelligence using the Microsoft stack using primarily Kimball methodology. I’ve worked in a scrum environment as a Scrum Master, QA and reports developer in the BI/DW environment since 2011.
I went to ScrumAlliance Global Scrum Gathering 2017 in San Diego, CA USA. Having lived in San Diego for 12 years I enjoyed going back. It was a great time. I will update what’s happening on my Events posts next week. I putting the finishing touches on my application for Certified Scrum Professional and should have it submitted in November 2017.
I am constantly continuing my Agile / Scrum education and experience as well as general leadership practices. This blog is about that journey.
On a personal note I’ve been married for a very long time with adult children and grand children. I ride 2 wheels a lot (motorcycles and road bicycles). Golf and sailing and traveling round out my fun time. 2016 was a particularly fun year. I’ve added some photos and and video of my motorcycle, our trip to Sweden and Desert Trip (Oldchela) to enjoy the Rolling Stones, The Who, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) with 70,000 other old folks.
